Criminal Lawyer – The Williamsburg Lawyers Make “Baloney” A Legal Term Of Art

Straight talk is an attribute of our firm. One of The Williamsburg Lawyers, Tom Turbeville, was recently asked to represent the wife of a Magistrate. The client and her husband were being sued by a prisoner who claimed that the Magistrate had failed to take certain statutory factors into account in setting his bond at $5,000. Attorney Turbeville decided to file a demurrer and call the civil lawsuit what it was.  Relying on the legal maxim that brevity and simplicity are enjoined as qualities of effective pleadings, he responded in his written Demurrer to the Court with three legal points. The last one was “this entire matter is baloney and sanctionable”.  The Court agreed and dismissed the action with prejudice and in favor of the Magistrate’s wife.
